I’ve been purging my closets all weekend, and just tried on this dress. I’ve kept it for years because it is timeless. Soft black velvet that shimmers (no artificial sequins here) and a slightly form-fitting shape. As I neatly fold this dress to put in my very-small pile of “this doesn’t fit right now, but I love this item so much I’m gonna keep it, and who knows what the future holds,” I think of the department store dress shopping one school night with my late daddy, and how he was the one who picked out this dress for my high school dance and how much I loved it. I think of all the ways my dad stepped up and was an amazing dad and Mr. Mom for me, taking me dress shopping, volunteering for my musicals with all the other moms. This dress takes me right back to a sweet moment in time with my daddy, and I love it for that. One day I believe I will wear it again. ☺️❤️
In my other life, I am a freelance editor. 😊 What a privilege it was to work with Jenni Schaefer as copy editor of her latest book proposal, which btw landed a contract!!! 🎉🎉🎉 #editor #copyeditor #clientwins #ilovemyjob #bookcontracts
This book is so good!!! And so speaks to the heart with the kind of honesty I crave. It’s been nice to spend the afternoon with my nose in a book. 📚☕️
